I originally shot these with a large softbox above the subject but the angular reflections coming from the top light weren’t working well with bottles so I opted to use a circular light source big enough to leave a rounded reflection.

The funny thing about these shots was that one of the bottles supplied to me by the client was empty… and when the background was lit, the empty bottle came out in a different color than the regular bottles. I had to cut out a piece of cardboard and tape it behind the bottle so that the bg light wont bleed through.

These were shot in under 10 minutes: less than 5 minutes to set up the lighting and less than 5 minutes to shoot.

I was assigned to shoot the grand prize for the 2008 XanGo Annual Convention (Overdrive) and I brought three lights but ended up shooting with just a single bare strobe (AB800) lighting up different parts of the car and compositing the shots into one final image.

it was a fun shoot. I took the first 10 shots… and put my camera on a tripod, set up all the lights, camera settings and the tranceivers… then I gave my kids the opportunity to just take pictures of their new friend Cristelle Zollinger.
